Privacy: your privacy policy, from a template
If your website collects personal data (a contact form, customer accounts, orders), you must explain to your visitors what you do with it in a privacy policy. This screen creates it for you from a template.
Creating it
- Fill in the owner details: name or company name, tax ID, address, email and phone. Name and email are required. If you already filled them in Legal notice, they appear here automatically.
- Set Use to “Yes” and leave Page on “New”.
- Click Save: the page is created and the panel takes you to it so you can review it.
What it includes
Who the controller is, which data is processed, why and on what legal basis, how long it is kept, the visitor’s rights and how to exercise them. The list of providers comes from your settings: always edeck.me (hosting), your payment gateway if you have one in Payment methods, and Google if you use Google Analytics.
Additional text
Whatever you write in Additional text is added at the end of the page. Use it for anything specific to your business (for example, a newsletter or an external service the template does not know about).
Regenerate
Regenerate rewrites the page from the template with the current details: use it if you change gateway or address. It replaces any manual changes to the page, but keeps the additional text.
Important: the template is an orientative draft, not legal advice. Review it with your adviser before publishing it. Link the page from the footer with a menu.
